R.E. Adams Dies - Veteran Mansfield Traveling Man Passes away at Utica - The death messenger claimed one of Mansfield's oldest traveling men Sunday night when Robert
E Adams passed away at the home of his sister, Miss Mary Adams of Utica.  The news of his death was received with deep regret by his many friends in this city. Mr Adams resided in Mansfield for many years and was well known there. While a resident here he roomed at the home of Mrs Gilbert Martien of West fourth street. For several years he had been in poor
health and more than a year ago he went to Utica to reside with his sister.

Mr Adams was born in Utica, Oct 28, 1852, and in 1878 he came to Mansfield and was employed as shipping clerk for the Tracy & Avery company. Three years later he became clerk in the Dickson & Adams grocery and a few years later became a partner in the grocery business with the firm of Anderson & Adams. This, later, became the firm of
McGinty & Adams, grocers and bakers.

He continued in this business until 1896, when he accepted a position as salesman for the Jackson & Company fruit house. In 1900 Mr Adams went with the Central Fruit company. He remained with that company until forced to leave because of ill health. He was one of the oldest members of Mansfield council, United Commercial Travelers No. 13 and had long
been active in its work.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
